The Question Finder analyses what you type on your device. Hope Unfiltered does not receive or store the words you enter. We may keep anonymous aggregate counts of the topics the Finder identifies and the Resources it recommends. These counts contain no question text or information identifying the person who entered it, and help us understand what conversations people are looking for.

If you use Ask a Question, we receive what you write so we can respond or think about it for a future conversation. Your name and email address are optional — a question can be completely anonymous. If you give an email address, it is only used to reply to you.

We ask separately whether your question may be discussed anonymously on the podcast. If you say no, it won't be.

We keep simple monthly counts of things like how often a page was opened, how far people got with the Question Finder, and which Resource it suggested. These are plain numbers added together for the whole month, along with a two-letter country code so we can see where interest is growing.

On articles we also keep anonymous daily counts of a few simple things: that a page was opened, that it stayed open and in view for about a minute, that someone reached the end of the article, that the question invitation was on screen, that the question box was opened, that a question was sent, and that a link to a Biblical Foundations page, a related article or a podcast platform was clicked. Each of these is counted at most once per visit and stored only as a daily total.

Some booklet links carry a tag in the web address so we can see that a particular printed run was used. The QR code printed in Booklet One is untagged, so scans of it cannot be told apart from anyone else typing the address.

None of these counts are linked to a person, a device or a visit. There is no visitor identifier, no cookie and no timestamp for individual actions, and they never contain anything you typed.

There is no visitor account, no mailing list sign-up and no advertising or behavioural tracking. Your choices as you move around the site are remembered in your own browser so pages can suggest something sensible next; you can clear that at any time by clearing your browser data.
