These are some of the Bible passages that ground what I’ve been saying about suffering, where God is when life goes wrong, and what Christians believe gives us somewhere to stand when the things we rely on are shaken.

Jesus understands human weakness
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses…”
God gives his Spirit to be with his people
“…he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever…”
The Spirit helps us in our weakness
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.”
Suffering cannot separate us from God’s love
“…nothing else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God…”
God will restore what is broken

God entered our suffering in Jesus → God gives his Spirit to be with his people → the Spirit helps us in our weakness → suffering cannot separate us from God’s love → God will ultimately restore what sin and death have broken.
